I was hoping to push through, then start addressing some issues after the grad ceremony, once I'm done with classes. I graduate in May, and going w/out a computer is really rough right now. I had not even heard of the recall, so I was pushing through. Then this happened.Īnd the screen thing on 15" macs? It has been affecting mine occasionally. Then, after my warranty ended in December, come February it refused to boot. Thankfully I was still under extended warranty (which paid for itself in that alone, not to mention the two broken chargers). A fan had gone out, and by the time I realized, the heat had affected the logic board and a couple other things as well. Last summer I had a severe overheating issue, took it in, and they replaced multiple affected parts. " now it's been one thing after another it feels like." If I needed a lot of storage I'd run a conventional hard drove as a disk doubler (Check OWC site for that.) or an external. I went w/ the smaller SSD for budget reasons.

I've been avoiding Yosemite w/ all the issues we see around here. I put a 120 GB SSD from OWC in it andI bumped the RAM to 8 GB.
They are Mac specialists so everything they sell works without any hassle. Never had a problem w/ anything I've ever bought from them in at least 8 years or so. I only deal with OWC and there are many reasons that I do:
